6th December, 2011 - De Cultureel Centrum, Warenar, Kerkstraat 75, Wassenaarar

“Scandal in Paris- John Singer Sargent’s Mysterious Portrait of Madame X”

Mary Alexander, the Speaker, has lectured extensively in museums, universities, art societies and even for Christies.

Madame X is a poignant story of ambition and miscalculation, brought to life with extracts from diaries, correspondence and contemporary photos.

She will be discussed in the context of Sargent’s other work and influences.

And for some holiday cheer, mulled wine and mince pies will be served after the lecture!

Doors open at 19:15, the lecture begins at 20.00

Please don’t forget to sign-in before the lecture at the Member’s Sign-In or Guest’s Sign-In tables respectively!

Entrance Fee for non-members of DFAS is 10 euro per lecture. Students are half price.
