June was a very successful month at the BCH and we would like to thank so many of you for attending our events ( Fashion Shopping at Madisons and Queen's Birthday Lunch), our Tour of the Royal stables and most recently our Strawberry Tea where we sent 200 pounds (285 euros collected) to:

www.breastcancercare.org.uk

The raffle prize of a hamper from Kellys-expat-shopping itself raised 144 euros!


If  you have either just been diagnosed with any kind of cancer or just recovered then please don't sit at home alone and worry.

A new  private English Speaking Cancer Support Group has just been formed  here in the Hague called

LIFELINE.

We will be open every Friday both in August and September.

Please note that the lending time for books has increased from 2 weeks to 4 weeks and it's FREE to all paid-up, Club members!

We have also some great new books for August/ September to lend out to members.

 

Librarian's Choice , September 24th  , 10.30 - 13.00

On this Friday,  BCH  and AWC members will be able to see a preview of new books before they reach the BCH  library shelves and reserve copies for loan! There will also be a display of books recommended by the BCH Librarians who will be on hand to answer questions about their Library which stocks a wide selection of British fiction and non-fiction books ranging from the latest best sellers and prize winners to biography, gardening , cookery etc.

A Walk through the Parks of the Hague

Friday, September 24th

Join Rosemary Bates for a leisurely walk through some of the lovely parks in the Hague starting at Central Station at 9.30 and ending at the Club House in time for soup and sandwiches.

The total distance covered will be about 10km
